Onion Skin peels back the psychological layers of four skin cancer patients. Melanie, Diana, Cherry, and Tim confront their mortality, humanity, and the medical institutions supporting and hindering them.
THE PLAY
Onion Skin is a dramatic comedy about skin cancer. Stylized with lighting, blocking, props, and a video element, the play shows audiences what it's like to fight cancer as a resilient human warrior.
THE PLAYWRIGHT, CO-DIRECTOR, AND PRODUCER
Dara Padwo-Audick has been an award-winning writer, director, and producer for the stage and screen for three decades. She is passionate about telling stories that spark conversations and introspection. Dara also teaches writing at American University in the Film and Media Arts Division.
CO-DIRECTOR AND PRODUCER
Matt Conner has been performing, composing, teaching, and directing for 25 years. He has earned multiple music and stage direction awards, including the Helen Hayes Award for Best Direction and the Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding Play/Musical.
